My name is Liz Kenyon and I act on the Committee in a ‘duties as required capacity’.
My first encounter with yoga was with Richard Hittleman’s admirable TV yoga (I have been surprised how many of my contempories were also ‘hooked’ by him). However, it was much later in life when I took up regular practice, first with Anita Woodward then with the venerable Kathleen Smith. After a long career in Administration, Finance and Personnel I ceased full time work and did various voluntary and paid jobs until I finally decided to train to teach yoga, my first love.
My yoga style is eclectic but mainly hatha based and my particular focus is on ensuring that both my personal practice and my lessons are holistic, trying to achieve a good balance between the physical and the spiritual, the body and the mind.
I have been teaching yoga now for 10 years and combine this with my responsibilities as secretary for the Lancashire Yoga Association.
In my more private life I enjoy walking, reading, swimming, gardening and sewing between spending time with my four grandchildren and caring for my elderly mother.
