Logging of CPD Hours

BWY teachers are now required to register their CPD training hours directly onto the main BWY web site.

This is easy to do, simply visit the National BWY website, using the following link CPD Logging

Then using the 'Members Login' at the top left of the page, enter your BWY membership number and a password.
Initially, this password will be your postcode.
After logging in, you will be required to change your password.
Click the link 'Your CPD' from the list now displayed under the Members Area.
Click 'Add a new event' to access the input form for your CPD details.
Log out when you have finished.

Mahasamadhi Swami Satyananda Saraswati

He was well known by many yoga teachers through his well thumbed reference book on Asana, Pranayama, Mudra Bandha affectionately known as APMB. He was born at Almora, Uttar Pradesh, in 1923. After meeting Swami Sivananda in Rishikesh in 1943, he adopted the Dashnami Sannyasa way of life. From 1955 to 1963 he lived as a wander­ing mendicant and after settling down, founded the International Yoga Fellowship in 1963 and the Bihar School of Yoga in 1964. He visited many countries and wrote over 80 books culminating in the foundation in 1987 of Sivananda Math, a rural development charitable institution, and the Yoga Research Foundation. In 1988, he adopted kshetra sannyasa, and lived as a paramahamsa sannyasin.  He attained Mahasamadhi on December 5th, 2009 in Rikhia, India. His successor Swami Niranjananda Saraswati carries on the tradition.

Registered teachers actively taking yoga classes are invited to send class listings to rickcalligaro@hotmail.com, BWY NW Marketing Officer and Web Administrator. Please use the format shown in the existing class list details provided by the BWY NW committee members. Emailing your details attached as a table or spreadsheet document is most convenient and will prioritise your entry. Information received before 12th November 2009 will appear on the website in the New Year. Details will be updated in line with the newsletter publication dates.

Please send your favourite images and we will make a selection for the home page If you are sending in your own images, we will place a notice to the effect that the image is copyright by the owner and your permission will be required to use the image. If it's not your own image, please ensure that you have obtained written permission to use an image and forward a copy of the permission with the image (Send to rickcalligaro@hotmail.com ).

• The BWY Corporate Theme for events in 2009 is to be "Enquiry"
• Please be reminded that the use of the BWY logo is to be phased out of any class lists or hand outs by November 1st 2008.
• It is recommended that Accident Forms and a diary of lessons with dates of reference be kept in teacher’s folders.
• When enrolling students, an enrolment form with a disclaimer should be issued, along with each student’s medical history, and age if under 18.
